YOUR JUNGLE ADVENTURE – awaits at this intimate award-winning lodge situated on the banks of a remote jungle lake amid the remnants of the Mayan City of Lamanai. The lodge is surrounded by broadleaf forests, pine savannahs, farmlands & vast wetlands that facilitate a captivating blend of cultural & nature-based adventures.  You can travel to the lodge by car, boat, aircraft & helicopter.

THE LAMANAI OUTPOST EXPERIENCE – Can perhaps be best described via the comments of Mrs. Vicki Turner, who along with her husband and two sons, stayed with us for  4 nights in July of 2019.  For more recent guest feedback, visit Trip Advisor at Lamanai Outpost Lodge Trip Advisor.

 We have  King Cabanas  that are perfect for couples
 We have a variety of  Special Family Cabanas  where parents & grandparents can have their privacy AND keep the kids close
 We have several  Double Cabanas  that work well for groups and extended families
 We have a few  Researcher-Cabanas  that can comfortably accommodate families and couples.  They have the same core features as our regular cabanas but are situated at the back of the lodge and are not air-conditioned.  These cabanas are normally used by group leaders, visiting scientists, and conservation related research teams.  Our Researcher Cabanas are available in the following formats:
Team – comes with two bunk beds, each with a single on top and double on bottom, private bath
     ●  Three Bedroom – comes with a queen bedroom, a double bedroom & a bedroom with two twins – three private bathrooms

ALL CABANAS ARE AIR-CONDITIONED BUT YOU DECIDE IF YOU NEED IT – Having found that many of our guests prefer open windows to enjoy the night-time  Noises of The Jungle  & the natural cooling of a thatch roofed cabana, we have structured our generators, electrical system and rates to provide air-conditioning as an option that can be added at the lodge or when booking your adventure.  Air-conditioning adds US$31 plus government tax per cabana-night – Not available in Researcher Cabanas.

PACKAGES – Information on our adventure packages can be found here Adult Packages & Family Packages

INTERNET ACCESS – Is complimentary & available throughout the lodge – access for children can be controlled.

CELL PHONE ROAMING – Most phones and portable devices will work at the lodge if you have activated ‘international roaming’ – reception is very good.

TELEVISION – Is limited to our  Honeymoon Cabana  which has a king bed, double shower & a Netflix capable Smart-TV.

PRIVATE & REMOTE – The lodge is private and caters exclusively to its in-house guests – our closest neighboring hotel is over 30 miles away.

WHAT OUR GUESTS ARE SAYING – See what past guests have to say about their Lamanai Experience  Trip Advisor Guest Comment.

STAFF GRATUITIES – We encourage tipping but do NOT believe in mandatory service charges – tipping should be totally up to you.  Given outstanding Service, we suggest putting US$20-30 per adult guest night and US$10-15 per child guest night into the tip box at  Reception.  Tips are 100% managed by our staff & shared by all except our guides who are generally tipped directly.

MUST WE BOOK A PACKAGE  – No, you can book a room & add whatever you need at the lodge.

NO DAY TRIPS NEEDED – Day trips are where you load the family into a van for what is often a lengthy drive to and back from an attraction – this is a costly & time-wasting process.  At Lamanai all your adventures happen within minutes of your cabana and will be planned to where they are almost always crowd free & private.

PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGES – Private Photography Packages with experienced guides can be arranged.

GETTING TO THE OUTPOST – You can reach the lodge by road, river or air.  The Lodge Has Its Own  Private Airport & Helipad.

HOW MOST PEOPLE GET TO THE LODGE – Most guests arrive on a SCHEDULED TRANSFER from the Belize International Airport which involves 60 minutes by road and 60 minutes by  Jungle-Riverboat.  Scheduled Transfers depart about 7am, 1pm and 4pm daily and additional transfers are added to accommodate very early & late flights.  Departure times are seasonally adjusted.

EXPEDITED PRIVATE TRANSFERS – Are available, from the International Airport, the Mexico Belize border, the Guatemalan Border and anywhere within Belize. They depart as soon as you are ready & are easy to arrange when making your reservation.

PREPARING FOR YOUR JUNGLE-RIVERBOAT TRANSFER – Have a waterproof windbreaker, binoculars, sunscreen & hat ‘Packed On Top’ so you can get them out at the boat landing.  All of our boats carry complimentary bottled water and are  Open-Topped  to enable unrestricted nature watching.

TRANSFERS FROM THE MEXICAN AND GUATEMALAN BORDERS – Are available and easy to arrange

PRIVATE AIR TRANSFERS FROM THE LODGE – Can get you to the International Airport, Ambergris Caye, Belmopan or the Cayo District in 20 minutes versus 2-3 hours by car and boat.  Air transfers make it possible to do ‘Cave-tubing and Zip-lining’ or  Actun Tunichil Muknal  on the way out to the island.

PARKING – Free & secure parking is available at the boat landing & at the lodge.

DRIVING IN BY YOURSELF – With some advance arrangement, we can meet you at the boat landing and drive your rental car around  while you go into the Lodge by  Jungle-Riverboat.

RENTAL CARS – We highly recommend  Crystal Auto Rental  – we have found their vehicles & customer support to be outstanding.  Crystal will waive the normal additional driver fee for our drive around service.

YOUR MEALS & DIETARY REQUIREMENTS – You will find our meals to be tasty,  Freshly Prepared and Plentiful.  With some advance notice, we can accommodate special dietary needs such as vegetarian, gluten free, no peanuts, pescatarian, vegan or  Kosher  at no additional cost.  Purified water, juice or squash, coffee & tea are included with all meals.

MOBILITY ISSUES – Know that we are situated on a hillside where you will encounter a gradient & steps when moving around the lodge.  In most instances we can accommodate mobility issues but you do need to Talk To Us When Making Your Reservation to ensure your needs can be met.

DRINKING WATER – Complimentary bottled water is carried in our boats & vehicles and is always available at the lodge.  Purified water is used to prepare our meals, it is also used to make our ice & is served with all meals. It is readily available in our dining room to refill your water bottles.

LAUNDRY SERVICE – Same day, washed dried & folded service available – US$20.00 plus government tax per load.

AFTER HOURS ASSISTANCE – Always available at the main lodge & reception areas which are staffed 24 hours a day.

BUGS & CREEPY CRAWLIES – Although our cabanas have available air-conditioning, are fully screened & pretty much bug proof, we are situated in the bush which is home to a fascinating array of  Jungle Critters,  reptiles, beetles, geckos, moths and bugs of all shapes and sizes.  If You Are Worried About Encountering Such Things, The Jungle May Not Be The Place For You

MOSQUITOS AROUND THE LODGE – For the most part, we get no mosquitos around the lodge.

MOSQUITOS WHEN OUT IN THE JUNGLE – Are generally minimal to none. Nothing that can’t be handled with a can of bug spray.

MALARIA & MOSQUITO-BORNE ILLNESSES – In its 30 years of operation, no Lamanai Outpost guest or any of the resident management team have contracted malaria or any other mosquito-borne infection.
